Introducing RESPeRATE, the interactive breathing device used by thousands of men and woman nationwide to gain control over high blood pressure. Used for just 15 minutes a few times a week, RESPeRATE delivers a significant all-day blood pressure reduction.

The Power to Lower Blood Pressure
RESPeRATE is a portable, computerized electronic device that guides you through sessions of interactive, therapeutic breathing powerful enough to lower blood pressure.

Proven in Seven Clinical Trials
Step 1: The respiration sensor monitors your breathing.

Step 2: The RESPeRATE computerized unit composes a personalized melody with prolonged inhale and exhale guiding tones.

Step 3: Simply listen to the melody through the headphones and synchronize your breathing.

By prolonging the exhalation tone RESPeRATE guides you to slow your breathing and reach the “therapeutic zone” of less than 10 breaths per minute.

Using a breathing sensor, RESPeRATE automatically analyzes your individual breathing pattern and creates a personalized melody composed of two distinct inhale and exhale guiding tones, delivered through comfortable earphones.

Simply listen to the melody through the headphones and synchronize your breathing to the tones. By prolonging the exhalation tone RESPeRATE guides you to slow your breathing and reach the “therapeutic zone” of less than 10 breaths per minute.

The physiological result? The muscles surrounding the small blood vessels in your body dilate, and relax. Blood is allowed to flow more freely, and pressure is directly, significantly lowered.

Breathing with RESPeRATE makes the difference
Scientific evidence has shown that structured therapeutic breathing, if performed without an effort or particular concentration, can significantly lower your blood pressure. However, these effortless therapeutic breathing sessions are difficult to perform on your own without years of training or continuous, individualized coaching. That is why RESPeRATE was developed.

To deliver effortless therapeutic breathing without any prior training, RESPeRATE utilizes a patented “Interactive Respiratory Pacing” technology, which ingeniously takes advantage of the body’s natural tendency to follow external rhythms.

Three Easy Steps
Within 3 to 4 weeks of use, a significant, all day reduction in blood pressure can be achieved.
And while your breathing returns to normal after each session with RESPeRATE, the beneficial impact on your blood pressure is cumulative. Bottom line: with regular use of RESPeRATE, measurable, sustained reduction in blood pressure is achieved.

Who Should Use RESPeRATE
Whether you are already taking anti-hypertension medication or still trying to lower blood pressure with diet and exercise, RESPeRATE might just be the tool you need.

Seven clinical trials repeatedly found RESPeRATE to be safe and effective for people with high blood pressure, either medicated or unmedicated, male or female, younger and older.

One particular study, published in American Journal of Hypertension, even found that RESPeRATE delivered significant blood pressure reductions for people who had uncontrolled blood pressure despite taking three or more medications at maximum dosage.

 “Judge for yourself” 2009-12-01
By mr mack (pittsburgh pa 15005)
I have used this machine for about a month. It has dropped my bp a couple points nothing great. It takes awhile to get the breathing right but once I did I found that I enjoyed that the most. I have study yoga and meditation it is hard to stay fouced without a being in a class. I tried the slow breathing with out the resperate and I found myself checking the time on the clock and not concentrating on the breath.I hope my bp will keep dropping as I will keep using the machine.I find the machine pricy but so was the yoga classes and mats, blocks, ect. The company could have done a better job making the machine and dropped the price to $150-$200 and I would say it is well worth it but at $300 it is a pricy all tho I did buy one.

 “Still uncertain” 2009-10-23
By Glenn H. Warner
The product is easy to use. I’ve only done 19 sessions with Resp e rate and have experienced a modest reduction in my morning blood pressure. It is still too soon to tell whether or not a long lasting reduction will occur with continued use of this device.

 “Resperate for Blood pressure” 2009-10-22
By J. Scherer (Colorado)
I am using this once a day, usually in the evening. It is calming, much like Yoga music and breathing. I am one of the users that has some trouble falling to sleep while using but believe the breathing and relaxation time will eventually do some lowering for me. I have not had this unit for very long and have a very stubborn blood pressure that I have had for years. This will be a good testing for my blood pressure.
I believe people with elevation that is pushing them toward medicine should see good results. My blood pressure is some better but am doctoring right now for adjustment in medications. I will inform later of my results as time goes on. There are so many good reports on this Resperate, that I just had to give it a good try. I caught the 90 dollars off sale. Otherwise, I felt very expensive.

“may as well shred your money for a ticker tape parade” 2009-08-27
By E. Connell (NY City)
I guess this product may work a bit if your hypertension is caused by too rapid, too shallow breathing otherwise forget about it. The machine prompts you to inhale and exhale to musical tones until your breath rate reaches 10 breaths per second then it lowers your breath rate to the point that if you follow the cues your breath rate will get down to about 4 1/2 breaths per minute. The problem with this is the manual suggests not letting your rate fall below 5 breaths per minute so then why doesn’t it stabilize around 6 breaths per minute? When I contacted customer service I NEVER got a response. This is a sure sign of a company selling a ripoff product. I’ve had it for a few months and it mostly had no effect on my blood pressure but what was worse is that on a few occasions I took my blood pressure before using the Resperate and after where my blood pressure was actually HIGHER afte using the product.

“After 60 days of Resperate, my blood pressure did not change” 2009-08-24
By Ray D. Ator (Seattle, WA)
I bought this item at a local drugstore for $300 and used it every day for 60 days. It did not change my blood pressure at all.

I tried contacting the company (phone and email) and they never answered the phone or my emails.

Since I paid for it with American Express, I was able to return it to the place of purchase for a refund.

 “Great product!” 2009-07-27
By R. Hunt (scottsdale, AZ)
This product has been a great way for me to practice my deep breathing on a regular basis. It’s fun to see how you are doing and it’s very interesting to see how your breathing patterns change due to stress. My teenage kids also found it to be very relaxing.

 “It really works” 2009-07-17
By BedHead
When this first arrived, I felt it wasn’t teaching me anything I didn’t already know (as a few others have mentioned), as I was able to do it perfectly (getting three squares each time) right out of the box. I planned to return it, got authorization for it from the company (who are very easy-going about returns, which makes it worth giving this a try to see if it works for you). Then something really stressful happened a few days later, and I decided to give it one last try. I found it very hard to breathe correctly and get the three squares going, which made me realize I just had not been at all stressed the first few times I did it. This time around, the line created was a jagged mess, and it really did help me to reduce my stress greatly. It is unquestionably pricey, but I also wanted to mention what a high-quality product it is — heavy, glossy, steel or maybe aluminum? It looks almost like an iPod and is very user-friendly and nicely designed. So yes, it is pricey, but not a cheap piece of plastic like I was expecting. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a chemical-free way to reduce your stress.

“May be OK if it works” 2009-07-09
By Bill K.
This product seemed to work at times and at others I turned it on, inserted my finger, and a dotted line just proceeded across the middle of the screen. I gave it a few minutes and nothing happened. Then I tried warming up my hands and reinstalling the batteries but no luck. Maybe I have a weak pulse or something? Or maybe it’s just defective.

The two times it did work I found that breathing out to a count of seven and breathing in to a count of eight quickly resulted in continuous 3 dot scores. I got 40 in a row ten or so minutes after opening the package. Maybe its chief value is in telling you what your ideal breathing pattern is. But in all fairness, I do think it worked a little better when I followed the prompts.

Three dot scores don’t necessarily result in happiness, however. I found myself getting angry that I had just spent about $150 on a machine that didn’t take much effort to get right. Then I noticed that even though I was getting angry I was still getting three dot scores which irritated me more.

Anyway, I was going to use it for about 30 days in a row and see if regular use really did make a difference in generally making me feel less stressed or better as a whole. But it just wasn’t working most of the time so I returned it.

 “doesn’t work” 2009-06-22
By Ronald L. Clairmont (New York City, New York)
The machine performed for a few minutes. Then it kept telling me that my finger was squeezing the sensor. (My finger was barely touching the sensor.) Then there was a problem with too much light in the room. In semi-darkness there was still too much light. I called the manufacturer twice. The person answering said the matter would have to be taken up with another department. The second time she said she would “personally walk the request over to the other department.” I never heard from them. Trying to return the item, I was told that it had to be in the original packaging (how often can you open an item without destroying the original packaging?). Buyer beware!

 “surprisingly helpful” 2009-06-05
By Edward M. Melendez (Austin, TX)
With its somewhat spendy pricetag, I was fairly skeptical about the device. Its competition is definitely yoga classes or other means of practicing meditation and breath control. I think those are great options for managing stress. The beauty of this device comes from time savings (I get meaningful benefit from a 7 minute break with the device) and its portability, so I can use it most anywhere, although a relatively quiet and undisturbed location is ideal. It’s also great for winding down before bed.

For me, the effect is like a quick nap; relaxing and energizing. It’s uncanny.

As other commenters have pointed out, it’s well-built and and presented with good documentation, not that most people would need the documentation. It’s intuitive to get started with and use.

Try it. If it works for you, it’s money well spent.
