GOsmart™ Pedometers by Omron feature Smart Sense technology. Instead of using a simple pendulum mechanism (the clicking you hear on most pedometers), GOsmart™ pedometers use advanced acceleration sensors. These sensors know exactly when you are taking a step and filter out non-walking movements so you know your count is accurate.
The new GOsmart™ Tri-Axis Pocket Pedometer (HJ-303) is the most advanced GOsmart™ pedometer – it can be used at any angle even flat! Use in a pocket, purse/bag or on the hip in any direction.
The precision of the step counting is within +/- 5%.
The HJ-151 and HJ-303 GOsmart™ pedometers separately displays the steps and minutes walked at a moderate pace, 90 steps or more per minute.
The HJ-303 uses 1 lithium battery (Included) that last with normal use for about 6 months. Package measures 3” x 1 3/8” x 1/2” inches (L x W x H) and weighs 1.0oz (battery included).

I’ve had and discarded a number of pedometers because they did not count steps accurately. For whatever reason, I could never seem to get the other pedometers lined up just right so they counted accurately. That’s not a problem with the Omron. I just slip it into my front pocket and the tri-axis sensor gives dead-on accurate counts. The unit is easy to handle and the simple controls give easy access to all the setup and display features. Overall, a great product at a reasonable price.

This is the third pedometer I’ve owned. I had an older Radio Shack one that was just plain inaccurate, you could hear the pendulum moving back and forth as you walked. Then I bought the Omron 121 that is sold here, and it was fine, except that you had to keep it in line with your stride. I lost that one, no idea what happened to it. I bought this one so that I could throw it in any pocket and still have it work. I just leave it in one of my cargo pockets and forget about it. I’ve tried comparing the distance read to a handheld GPS that I have, and it’s pretty close. (That’s of course more dependent on the length of stride that you set.) Where I have a problem is it computing calories burned off of a moderate pace, which it measures separately. My GPS measures average MPH as well as time moving and time stopped, and I really can’t figure out how this pedometer comes up with the calories burned, when compared to the GPS figures.
A good thing, I washed this thing in my pants pocket, forgot about it. Luckily I drip dried my pants, but I found the pedometer a couple of days later, not working, with the window all beaded up with moisture. I took it apart (only 6 easy screws), and let it sit for a week. Put it back together and it works like a champ.

This is a terrfic item. I have bought cheaper pedomters before but it is well worth spending the money for this one. All in all, the money wasted for inferior products isn’t worth the hassle.
The tri-axis componet on this makes it worth it. It doesn’t add steps everytime you do anything other than walking. It maintains the proper count at all times.
as with other reviewers, I highly recommend this item. I bought one as a Christmas gift also. I know it will be well received by someone who also wasted money on other models that added steps incorrectly.

I bought this product to keep track of my walking and running on days I don’t go to the gym. Trying to keep healthy and stay active. I found it very easy to use. The power down mode that turns the dispaly off to save the battery is very efficient. You just have to tap the mode button to turn the display on. Display is easy to read. The step count and total miles has been very accurate. However, when using the eleptycal equiptment at the gym, while accurately counting steps, it does not record it as “moderate”. It does record walking briskly outside and on the treadmill as moderate. The safety clip is great to prevent loss. I have found it works on a belt and in my pocket. Would highly recommend it for accuracy, ease of use, easy to read and efficient.

I like the pedometer, not so much that it blanks out. It is sometimes not wanted.
The form is not so practical, it has a retangular shape wich requires deep pockets.
The clear button could have been separated from the other buttons, it would have made mistakes less likely to happen.
It is worth the money, I have used all the other Omron pedometers this is the best.
