I had purchased a less expensive pulse oximeter but sent it back because it took too long to converge and because the display on that one was “upside down” — it was designed to be read by the nurse, not by the user.

This oximeter is much better designed for the end user. You can rotate the display, and it takes about a minute to converge. I have an automated blood pressure monitor and I start the two at the same time, and by the time my bp has been determined (about a minute), the oximeter has a stable reading.

I have calibrated it, very roughly, by comparing measurements at home with measurements later that day at a doctors office, and the readings are always in the same ballpark (+/- 1) if not identical.

I have two boys, ages 7 and 4, and both are prone to wheezing and breathing problems. After my 7-year-old had to be hospitalized overnight in October for low oxygen, I bought this pulse oximeter from Amazon. Now, when the boys get sick, I have more peace of mind knowing that their oxygen levels are within range… or I know when I need to take them to the doctor/emergency room. I would recommend bringing yours with you to a doctors appointment to verify that it is accurate. Mine is, but again, for peace of mind, it’s nice to have that verified. The display is very easy to read and my boys like pushing the button to change which direction the numbers are facing. You have to leave the unit on the finger for a good 20-30 seconds to get an accurate reading, but it sure beats a trip to the doctor’s office. I am very happy with this purchase.

This product is very accurate and I found it with in +/- 1 points to those costly equipment at doctor’s office. This is well worth for its price. Easy to use, small to carry along in the pocket and use anywhere, no special maintenance required and accurate at any time. Due to my lung condition, I am always carrying it along to gym, shopping and everywhere and now I know exactly what my oxygen levels are. This is a must buy for anybody who has lung conditions that makes them desaturate under exertion.

I bought the Nonin GO2 for my mom who uses oxygen at night and has had blood oxygen saturation problems lately. Her level is normally 97-98 but sometimes drops to 90. I wanted her to know when it got low. I researched several brands of home meters. Nonin, I learned, makes professional models costing hundreds. But the GO2 uses the same technology in the home use meter. The difference is that the GO2 is not “certified” thought technically its just as accurate and reliable as a professional unit. The meter is very easy to use. It automatically turns on when placed on the finger. It takes 5-10 seconds to give O2 level and pulse rate. Then it shuts off automatically once removed. A single AAA battery lasts about 4000 readings. It has a great warranty (2 years) and seems very accurate. Highly recommended product!

Outstanding item. I use this on my wife who is in a ventilator unit of nursing home. Reads right on with the nursing home. I use it mainly for the heart rate. This tells me if my wife has a fever or not. She sleeps much of the time, so I can make a fast check on her. The respiratory technicians are surprised aat the low price.
