 “Questionable results” 2009-12-05
By S. L. Cox
I like the ease of use with the EastShore Automatic Digital Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor. I have not yet had a chance to compare the accuracy with another monitor, however I know that about half the time I get a false ‘high’ reading. I am an EMT monitoring my own blood pressure and some of the false high readings are pretty scarey - until you realize they are false! Even without repositioning the monitor, re-taking another reading is much more accurate. I do recommend this type of monitor for anyone that needs to keep an eye on their BP, especially those who may live alone or be elderly - you can’t get much easier than this, just be aware of the false readings and re-test.

SELLER WAS GREAT AND SENT ITEM AT LIGHTNING SPEED. THANK-YOU FOR A GREAT PRODUCT

What a great device! So easy to use - a velcro cuff that’s simple to adjust, push a button and moments later, there’s your reading!

“Nice machine.. but did not get the one in the picture (still model 6015 though)” 2009-09-12
By J. Luff (North East USA! -prime camping country!)
I got this from Amazon for 29.99 shipped, so I cannot complain. It does not look like the picture however. My model number IS the ADC 6015. Not sure if it is an old version of it or what… The biggest difference is it only has a memory of 30 blood pressure readings. Otherwise it seems to work fine. For $29.99 I was expecting a basic machine..and that is what I got, so I cannot complain. I think this listing should be updated to reflect the actual one being recieved. though.

 “Blood Pressure Machin” 2009-09-03
By J. Buerger
I really like this product and think that it is a great quality item for the price. The only thing that I didn’t like was how the memory light didn’t stay on the number you were currently on. Plus the memory went backwards instead of forwards. I also have not found out how to delete the recordings in memory because the instruction booklet did not have that information. Otherwise it is a wonderful purchase.

Don’t waste your money.

 “Cheap and not accurate” 2009-05-16
By John Bean (San Diego, CA)
It’s cheap and not accurate. I compared with arm units and never got an accurate reading. I’ve been trying to return it but for some reason Amazon won’t let me access the return site. Not sure what that is about. Don’t waste your money if you need an accurate blood pressure reading. I think that is an obvious fact. It may be a little harder to use an arm band type but your health is more important. A nurse showed me how to set the arm band and just slide if off to make it easier to use the next time. It’s worth the effort.

“WrisTech Blood Pressure Monitor is easy to use!” 2009-04-01
By ruel (California, USA, Earth)
***** IMPORTANT NOTE:
I wrote this review in April 2009. The main picture of the product has CHANGED
to a more squarish device and that is **NOT** the device that I bought. They
CHANGED picture and that means they CHANGED the device to something that is
NOT exactly like the device that I bought. Go to the top of this product page
where the product picture is on the left side of the screen and click the link
below the picture for Customer Images (pictures) and you’ll see the device that
I got. I posted those pictures when the device that was being sold here on Amazon
was exactly that device. Now, there is a different looking device. The different
device has three buttons. The device that I bought has four buttons. It may be just
as good, but I don’t know. It looks like the same company WrisTech, but like I
said, I don’t know. If anything, I think my WrisTech device that I got looks a lot
better than that different squarish device. Sorry, but I say YUCK as to how that
different thing looks. My review is only with regard to the device that I got
and not that different looking device.
*********************

I got this WrisTech Blood Pressure Monitor device via Publishers Clearing House (PCH). PCH is that company that does those contests where people are suppose to win lots of money but at the same time they are really trying to sell you magazine subscriptions by sending you their junk mail with those magazine stamp stickers that you have to lick and stick onto the entry form. PCH is now also doing the same thing by selling products instead of magazine subscriptions in their junk mail. Anyways, they had a stamp sticker for this WrisTech Blood Pressure Monitor device. You had to tear the stamp sticker off of a printed half sheet info page for the device, lick the stamp, and paste the stamp onto the PCH entry form. I don’t know if I won the latest PCH contest, but I wanted to buy this WrisTech Blood Pressure Monitor device which they were selling for something like $20-$30 dollars plus S&H. You pay something like $6.99 a month or pay the whole thing in full (I paid the whole amount when they sent me the bill with the device). Looked like a good buy. And looking at the Amazon price here for $20-something dollars plus S&H, it looks like that I got a comparable price with PCH but the Amazon price here is cheaper. I’ve had this WrisTech device for several months now. The device is from the North American Healthcare company with the actual device being made in China. WrisTech is apparently a brandname for their product.

Anyways, this WrisTech device is easy to use, but you have to do it correctly. The first time when I put this thing on my wrist, I put it on like a watch facing upwards near the back of the hand. Of course, that was all wrong because I didn’t read the instructions. I read the instructions after getting the wrong frightening blood pressure reading. You have to turn your open palm upwards and put the WrisTech device on that way. You press the lower right button to turn it on, wait a moment, and press that button again to start taking the reading. It pumps up around your wrist and then counts down until you get the reading. You have to rest your elbow on a table and have your hand/wrist/device be at the same level as your heart. I rest my elbow on my free hand on the table and watch the WrisTech do its thing. You have to get two AAA batteries for this thing. I find the battery cover to be a little difficult to take off. Batteries are suppose to last six months if you take your blood pressure once a day. Of course, the batteries may last longer if you don’t measure your blood pressure that often. I would say to get name-brand alkaline batteries like Duracell if you want the batteries to last a long time. Oh, after you use this device to take a reading, it will automatically turn off after 60 seconds.

Now, doctors and nurses will tell you that these wrist blood pressure devices are inaccurate. I was told that when I went to a doctor’s appointment, but they told me to go ahead and use the device to see how it works out over time. I think the problem with erroneous readings is because consumers may not be using these wrist devices correctly - namely resting your elbow on a table and having the device be at the same level as your heart. Also, you have to stay still, relax, not talk when the device is doing its thing. I remember reading somewhere that you have to wait a half hour after eating before taking a measurement with this type of device. Anyways, the retail box, that this WrisTech device came in, said that this device has “Clinical Accuracy.” So, use the device correctly and I think you should get readings that are comparable to what you get at the doctor’s office.

Of course, you have to go with what your doctor/nurse finds as your “official” blood pressure readings using their blood pressure devices where you roll up your sleeve and they put that pressure band around your arm above the elbow. You can buy the same type of device that doctors/nurses use, but the wrist-type devices are cheaper and easier to use. However, the catch is using the device properly and comparing your results with what the “official” readings that you get when you go to your doctor’s appointment. What is nice about this WrisTech device is that it can save the last 60 readings. And so you can compare your personal readings as well as with what you get at the doctor’s office. Thanks for reading.

 “Omron HEM-670IT” 2009-12-08
By The Affiliate (California)
After one month, so-far-so-good. Took the unit on Cardiologist vist to compare with their equipment … readings very close.
Especially like the ability to store up to seven weeks of weekly morning and evening readings. Haven’t gotten to the down loading of readings to my computer but think that feature will be helpful for charting and long-term records.

“Wrist BP Monitor Omron HEM-670IT” 2009-12-02
By J. P. Jensen (Thayne, WY)
At the suggestion of doctor my wife needed to have at least twice daily monitoring of her blood pressure. Did not want to use the usual sphygomometer with its arm cuff and stethoscope, so opted for the Omron HEM 670IT. It is simple to use, accurate and has been an effective indicator of the blood pressure levels at various times of the day. Highly recommended.

 “Dangerously Inaccurate” 2009-11-27
By G. Backof (Maryland USA)
I purchased the Omron HEM-670IT three months ago and used it to record my blood pressure three different times each day in that time. The unit consistently returned dangerously inaccurate readings that ranged, both in systolic and diastolic, anywhere from 20 to 38 points LOWER than they actually were.

On the basis of the print-outs that the Omron HEM-670IT provided via the computer software that comes with the unit, my doctor CUT my prescribed medication in HALF because the Omron was returning low double-digit readings, both systolically and diastolically.

After my last visit to the cardiologist, I began using an Omron HEM-780 that had been measured against units used by two different cardiologists. In these cases, the readings of the Omron HEM-780 were almost identical to the doctors’ equipment. I have stopped using the Omron HEM-670IT and will now use it as a paperweight only.

The Omron HEM-670IT is convenient to use, sturdy, and attractive. However, it does not perform accurately — not even close!

I strongly recommend that potential customers look elsewhere in the Omron line of quality BP instruments. This one is worthless — and is potentially hazardous to your health.

“A nice way to Track Your Progress” 2009-10-12
By John Maher
This piece of equipment is handy and allows one to follow their Blood Presure and make a meaningful chart of the readings on your computer. It also, through audio signals, tells you when your wrist is at the proper level and automatically takes your blood presure when that level is correct.

 “Great product!” 2009-10-09
By Andrew F (Seattle, WA)

I have high blood pressure and take several different kinds of blood pressure meds. As a result, I regularly check my blood pressure twice a day - once right after I wake up and once during the day. I take it right after I wake up because I discovered it was unusually high in the mornings which I eventually traced to being caused by breathing obstruction when I sleeped. I got a sleeping appliance to fix that, and since than my BP has been fine in the mornings. The cuff on this is very comfortable, and the readings seem to be fairly consistant and accurate. I’ll occasionally check them against the readings of the older model OMRON I was using before. This model also tells you if have an irregular heartbeat and lets you download stored readings to your laptop. It’s well worth spending the extra $$ to get this model vs. one with less features!

“Excellent Blood Pressure Monitor from Amazon.com” 2009-12-10
By F. Worthington (Charlotte NC)
On the advice of my cardiologist, I searched for a device to monitor my blood pressure and pulse. A friend suggested the Omron wrist monitor which I subsequently purchased. It was extremely easy to set up (changing the monitor position from left to right wrist) and also easy to use. Being able to periodically check my blood pressure has done wonders for my peace of mind.

“Easy to use if you’re not elderly………” 2009-12-08
By Roxanneboscobel (Silver Spring, MD)
My husband and I found this easy to use, but were not able to use it with our elderly mothers. They could not grasp the need to hold it essentially over your heart to get it to inflate. We figured it out with the second use and after that could immediately put it in the right position (imagine holding your left arm up against your body with the wrist over your breastbone); our mothers could not. In addition, one of our mothers has lost quite a lot of muscle and the cuff would not inflate correctly for her tiny, bony wrist. But if you’re not elderly, it is fast and easy to use. We didn’t investigate whether the measures were exactly correct; for us they were close enough!

 “Patients love it” 2009-12-06
By T. D. Woods (Portland, OR)
Finally something that works, is peer reviewed in journals and is accurate, and takes the pressure of even my heaviest patients, without hurting them. Large upper arms are painful to take BPs in. This solves that problem and makes it possible for patients to have their BPs taken without having to take their blouses or shirts off. HIghly recommended

“Omron blood pressure cuff review from dental professional” 2009-12-05
By J. Fields (Cincinnati, OH USA)
After doing a little research on the Internet to find an accurate and user-friendly blood pressure device, this product was rated the highest for accuracy and ease of use. To these claims, I would absolutely agree. However, the only downside to using it is the occasional inability to get a reading at all. In order for it to work, one has to simply place on left wrist and place that wrist across the chest, resting near the heart. (Like one would with the right hand for the Pledge of Allegiance.) But if a woman is bigger-chested or if the person is inclined back just a little too far, it doesn’t read a blood pressure. For 3 weeks I have used this, and it is SO EASY and I’d recommend it to anyone, but realize that 1 of every 15 people it was a little challenging and I had to try several times just to find that right spot on their chest before it worked.
